Washington, D.C. - Congressman Jake LaTurner from Kansas has called on the Biden administration to launch an investigation into Cnano Technology USA, Inc., a Chinese-backed manufacturing company that plans to establish a facility in Johnson County, Kansas. Expressing concerns about national and economic security, Rep. LaTurner emphasized the potential threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party's infiltration of American supply chains and access to critical military operations.

According to Rep. LaTurner, "The Chinese Communist Party will stop at nothing to infiltrate American supply chains and gain insight into our most critical military operations." He described Cnano USA as "a wolf in sheep's clothing" and emphasized the urgent need for the Biden administration to take action to prevent the company from expanding its presence in American markets and using espionage to access sensitive military information.

In a letter addressed to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Rep. LaTurner highlighted the significant economic and national security risks associated with Cnano Technology USA, Inc. and its ties to the Chinese Communist Party. He urged the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to pay attention to the potential national security concerns arising from the company's investment in the state of Kansas.

"As members of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), I write to you to draw your attention to potential national security concerns arising from the decision by Cnano Technology USA, Inc. to invest nearly $95 million for the construction of a manufacturing facility in the state of Kansas," wrote Rep. LaTurner in the letter.

CFIUS, a committee within the United States Department of the Treasury, is responsible for reviewing transactions that could result in a foreign person controlling an American business, as well as non-controlling investments in sensitive U.S. businesses. Its primary goal is to safeguard national security interests and protect American citizens.

Rep. LaTurner expressed strong concerns about granting permission to a company with proven and significant ties to the Chinese Communist Party to operate as a critical component supplier in the field of electronics and battery production, particularly in close proximity to U.S. military bases. He emphasized the need to prevent CCP-backed companies from expanding their foothold in American supply chains.

The full letter can be read on Rep. LaTurner's official website.

In related news, the Daily Caller reported on the exclusive revelation that the CCP-tied firm, Cnano Technology USA, Inc., is set to build a massive facility near sensitive U.S. military sites. This additional information further highlights the concerns raised by Rep. LaTurner and the urgency of investigating the company's activities.

Rep. LaTurner's call for an investigation into Cnano Technology USA, Inc. underscores the need for robust measures to safeguard national security and protect American interests from potential threats posed by foreign-backed companies. The Biden administration now faces the task of assessing the concerns raised and taking appropriate action to ensure the integrity of American supply chains and military operations.
