In honor of 100 years of service, Kansas Lieutenant Governor David Toland will be on hand for Proclamation Day at Cowley College on Wednesday, August 31, at 2 p.m. in the Robert Brown Theatre.
Lieutenant Governor Toland will read a proclamation to those in attendance, while the event will include a preview of time capsule items as the College will be celebrating the first day of classes that took place 100 years ago on September 12, 1922, with some special surprises for students.
Jessica Lucas, Government Affairs Liaison, will emcee the event. Along with Lieutenant Governor Toland, Cowley College president Dr. Randy Smith, Representative Bill Rhiley, and Senator Larry Alley will also speak at the event.
The Proclamation Day will have an emphasis on 100 years of Cowley College and also the Workforce initiative, and future of the Career and Technical Education Center.
