Allen Women Win Big Matchup at Pratt

The Red Devils traveled to Pratt, Kansas to take on the Beavers in a high stake match. Allen started the game with a lot of energy while controlling the run of play and connecting passes and having good chances to go to goal. Despite going back and forth with the Beavers in the first half, Pratt's #9 was able to put the ball in the back of the net with only a minute left on the clock. Before the half ended the Red Devils answered by having a near goal after a set piece was awarded. This energy would be carried over into the second half.

The Red Devils started the second half with more energy than the first half and within 20 seconds our #4, Jessica Allen, put the ball in the back of the net to tie the game 1-1. It was a well fought battle the rest of the second half and it was evident that the Red Devils had really settled into the game. Ath the end of regulation time the game was still 1-1 sending the match into overtime. The energy and run of play did not waiver when it came to the Red Devils. All the girls were focused and determined to put the game away. After the first 10 minutes of over time the girls headed into 2OT. After many combination plays and breakaways to goal, our #7, Rebecca Lord, was able to easily place the ball in the bottom right corner to win the game in the 107th minute. It was a well fought battle by your Lady Red Devils who ended the game with 15 shots and our goal keeper, Daniela Gonzalez coming up with 4 huge saves to keep us in the game.

The Lady Red Devils next take on Hesston College for their Sophomore Game on October 15th at 2:00 pm.
