The Pittsburg State University volleyball team fell to the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State 3-0 Saturday (Oct. 22) in John Lance Arena/ Whetzel Court.
The Bearcats took control of the match from the start winning the first set 25-19. Right Side Janae Thurston had five kills in the first set for the Gorillas. The Bearcats took control of the match in sets two and three winning them 25-16, and 25-12.
Outside hitters Janae Thurston and Meg Auten led the offensive attack for the Gorillas with 10 kills each. Bre Richard had 30 assists on the night for the Gorillas. Marissa Bates led the defensive attack for the Gorillas with 23 digs.
The Gorillas will be back in action Wednesday (Oct. 26) as they travel to Topeka to take on the Ichabods of Washburn University. The first serve will be at 6 p.m. (CDT).
