Men's Basketball Goes 2-0 on the Weekend

Hounds Men's Basketball went 2-0 over the weekend at the Gladbach classic. The Hounds started the weekend with a 97-46 win over Avila JV. The Hounds started hot going on a 12-0 run to start the game and they never looked back. There were no lead changes throughout the game.  Fort Scott played well on both sides of the ball and the Arnold Arena Faithful had the gym rocking. We would like to congratulate Coach Cochran on his first win as a Head Coach at the collegiate ranks.

The stars of the game were Clance Crosby who finished with a double double with 20 points going 9-11 from the field along with 13 rebounds. Baker Beal turned in a strong showing as well with 15 points and 4 assists. Andre Norris played lock down defense with 7 steals and 7 assist along with 13 points.

The Hounds then hosted the Ichabod's from Washburn University Junior Varsity team. The Hounds started off strong and were up at 50-25 at the half. The Hounds shot an impressive 66% from the field in the first half and were 8/10 from the line. The second half Washburn chipped away at the lead and shot an impressive 60% from the field to narrow the lead. Baker Beal sealed the deal with a pair of free throws with thirty seconds left on the clock making the final score 84-80.

The players of the game were Cooper Smith with 15 points, Lamarcus Penigar with 15 points and Andre Norris with 12 points, 8 assists and 5 steals.

The Hounds are now 2-1 on the season.

The Hounds are back in action on Tuesday November 8th at Coffeyville CC.
