The Cowley College volleyball team has signed Sara Puskas from Budapest, Hungary, to begin her college career in the fall of 2023.
Puskas, a 6-foot outside hitter/opposite hitter, prepped at XIII. Keruleti Ady Endre Gimnazium in Budapest, Hungary. She began playing volleyball for Hercules in 2015. She led her team to a second-place finish in the United World Games and was named team Most Valuable Player. In 2017, she went to the BVSC-Zuglo club in Budapest, where she was named Most Valuable player in 2017 and 2020. In 2020, her team finished 6th in the U17 Hungarian championships. In 2022, she led her team to a first-place finish in the NB II. She was also awarded the honor of great athlete and great student in 2016 and 2017.
"Sara is an exciting player who will add a dominant presence to our offense and defense with her powerful attack and all-around abilities. She is such an impact player who can elevate a match with those abilities and confident play," Cowley head coach Steven Gream said. "Sara has played at a high level in the best volleyball programs in Hungary and we look for her to bring that experience and grow in the college game. We are excited to have her as a part of our program at Cowley."
Puskas is the daughter of Attila Puskas and Zsuzsanna Purger Puskasne of Budapest, Hungary.
