Pittsburg State University Athletics leads the MIAA and ranks 15th nationally in the 2022-23 NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup fall standings released today (Dec. 22).

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports - seven women's and seven men's.

The Gorillas, who field 12 intercollegiate sports, compiled 164.0 points during the fall thanks to NCAA Division II postseason appearances by the men's and women's cross country teams as well as the Pitt State football team.

Pitt State's No. 15 ranking is the institutions highest placement in the Learfield Directors' Cup Standings.

Colorado School of Mines leads the Division II fall standings with 448.0 points.

Three MIAA institutions, including Pitt State, rank in the top 50 in the directors' cup fall standings:  Pitt State (15th), Northwest Missouri (21st, 153.0 pts.) and Nebraska-Kearney (32nd, 129.0 pts.).
