Fab Lab ICC is proud to host the 7th annual Montgomery County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge on Friday, February 24, 2023.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) Series is co-sponsored by Network Kansas, K-State University College of Business, and the Kansas Masons, to promote entrepreneurship and small business development in Kansas. The competition is for student-created, managed, and owned ventures.

The competition gives Kansas high school students experience developing a formal business proposal. While competing, students will submit a written business summary, provide a formal presentation, and participate in a mock tradeshow where they can pitch their product or service to a panel of judges using visual and informational aids.

“This competition is all about the contestant’s drive to serve customers and solve problems. There is nothing fancy or complicated about that, and previous winning businesses have included everything from lawn care to baked goods. These are real businesses that anyone can do. Students who participate in this competition love to showcase their talent, and have a chance to win great prize money to grow their businesses.”

The deadline to register for the competition is February 10, 2023.
