The #13 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team stumbled in the second half on the road losing against the Seward County Saints 82-78.  With the loss, Coffeyville drops to an overall record of 13-4 including a 7-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.

Through the first half of this game, Coffeyville was on track with the Ravens leading the Saints 38-30 at halftime.  Even to start the second half all seemed right with the Ravens leading by ten 48-38 at the 16:00 mark of the second half.  However, the final fifteen minutes did not go how the Ravens wanted it to.

Over the final fifteen minutes of game time, the Seward Saints slowly chipped away at Coffeyville's lead.  Seward's first lead of the game came on a made three-pointer with 5:30 to go to take a 68-65 lead.  Over the next four minutes, the lead seesawed back and forth with Coffeyville holding a slim 78-77 lead with 1:27 to go.   Seward would seal the victory by sinking five free throws over the last 1:27 to post the 82-78 victory.

Coffeyville was outscored 52-40 in the second half.  The overall shooting percentages for the teams were close with Coffeyville's 46% just behind Seward's 47%.  However, Coffeyville's 30 turnovers in the game were a season-high eclipsing the 22 turnovers against Hutchinson earlier in the year.

Game leaders for the Red Ravens included freshman guard Sotirios Nafpliotis with 19 points (6/12 from 3), sophomore forward Jordan Wildy with 15 points and 5 rebounds, and freshman guard Camian Shell with 11 points.

The Red Ravens will return to action on Saturday, Jan 14th as they will host the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College in Nellis Gymnasium.  Tip-off is set for 4:00 pm.
