Roach Scores 31 as the Red Ravens Defeat Garden City 76-69

Red Raven sophomore guard Kennady Roach scored a career-high 31 points as the Coffeyville Red Ravens defeated the Garden City Broncbuster 76-69.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 14-6 including a 10-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.  The 10-4 KJCCC record has the Ravens currently fifth in the 13-team KJCCC Division I standings.

The Coffeyville Community College Women's Basketball team came into this game with a winning streak of three games and looked to push the streak to four games.  The Red Ravens opened up strong jumping out to a 9-3 lead in the first quarter on their way to leading the Broncbusters by a score of 14-10 to start the second quarter.  Coffeyville outscored Garden City 19-18 in the second quarter to take a 33-28 lead into halftime.  The Broncbusters pulled within a point after three quarters with the Red Ravens leading 52-51 to start the fourth quarter.  The fourth quarter is where Raven sophomore guard Kennady Roach had a fourth quarter to remember scoring 16 of her 31 points in the fourth quarter to push Coffeyville to the final 76-69 victory. 

Roach's stats for the game included shooting an overall 9/13 and 4/7 from the three-point line as well as 9/11 from the free-throw line.  In just the fourth quarter, Roach was 5/7 overall and 1/3 from three, and 5/7 from the charity stripe.  Red Raven sophomore center Cheyenne Banks pitched in a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to help out on the night.  Freshman guard Bailey Layman contributed 12 points to round out the double-figure scorers.
