2022: 34 coaches at institutions in Montgomery County earned on average $39,092

Montgomery County’s 34 coaches earned an average salary of $39,092 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 15th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Kansas post-secondary schools during 2022.

Montgomery County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Independence Community College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $56,333.

Male coaches of men's teams received $45,781 on average in Montgomery County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $37,553.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
