U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) has released a statement marking the first anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack against Israel by Hamas. He emphasized the loss of 1,200 lives, including 40 Americans, and reaffirmed U.S. support for Israel's security measures to prevent future incidents.
Moran highlighted the ongoing plight of hostages held by Hamas, including American citizens. "All efforts must be made to bring them home alive," he stated.
The senator also expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis affecting Palestinians and Lebanese civilians. He urged for the passage of essential supplies into Gaza, criticizing terrorist groups for using civilian infrastructure as shields.
In his statement, Moran noted that Iran-backed groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis pose threats not only to Israel but also to Americans globally. Reflecting on his visit to Israel following last year's attack, he stressed the importance of consistent U.S. support for Israel in pursuit of long-term peace in the region.
