U.S. Senator Jerry Moran from Kansas has expressed his stance on the ongoing debate regarding agricultural assistance in the Continuing Resolution (CR). In a statement released today, Senator Moran emphasized the challenges faced by Kansas farm families and the urgent need for support to maintain their operations.
Senator Moran stated, “Through no fault of their own, Kansas farm families are struggling to keep their heads above water, and it is critical they receive assistance as soon as possible to continue their operations.” He further mentioned his commitment to collaborating with colleagues on both the Senate Appropriations Committee and Ag Committee to ensure stability for producers.
Moran made it clear that he would not back the bill if it does not include aid for farmers and ranchers. “If there is no assistance for our farmers and ranchers in the Continuing Resolution, I will not support the bill,” he asserted.
This announcement highlights the significance of agricultural support in legislative discussions and underscores Moran's dedication to advocating for farmers' needs within Congress.
