U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) has announced his committee assignments for the 119th Congress. He will return as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and join the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, as well as the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs.

Senator Moran emphasized his commitment to drafting a new Farm Bill to assist farmers and ranchers affected by uncontrollable factors such as droughts and tornadoes. He also aims to support research into drought-resistant crops and promote biofuels like sustainable aviation fuel.

Moran continues to prioritize Kansas military bases—Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth, and McConnell Air Force Base—ensuring they receive necessary resources for national defense. His role also includes supporting law enforcement with essential tools and advancing medical research.

As part of his responsibilities in another committee, Moran supports Kansas's aviation industry, which employs over 90,000 people. This involves overseeing Federal Aviation Administration reforms and advocating for economic development across various sectors.

In his capacity on the Indian Affairs Committee, Moran seeks to reform Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas. He aims to address issues caused by mismanagement within the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Moran remains involved in national security matters through his work on the Intelligence Committee, providing oversight of U.S. intelligence activities to ensure compliance with constitutional laws.

Throughout his congressional career, Moran has focused on improving life quality for nearly 250,000 veterans in Kansas. His leadership will continue with initiatives like the SFC Heath Robinson PACT Act and VA MISSION Act to enhance healthcare access for veterans.
