U.S. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas has announced his appointment to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for the 119th Congress. Highlighting the importance of agriculture in Kansas, Sen. Moran stated, "Agriculture is the leading industry in Kansas, and our farmers and ranchers provide the fuel and food that supports the nation." He expressed his intention to advocate for Kansas producers and contribute to crafting a long-term Farm Bill aimed at providing stability for farmers and ranchers.

Sen. Moran plans to focus on supporting farmers and ranchers affected by natural disasters such as droughts and tornadoes. Additionally, he aims to promote research into drought-resistant crops, conservation efforts, and policies encouraging biofuel development, including sustainable aviation fuel.

Both Sen. Moran and fellow Kansan Senator Roger Marshall will serve on this committee. This marks only the second instance where both senators from Kansas have served concurrently on this committee.
