U.S. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas has expressed his support for a Senate budget resolution aimed at enhancing protections along the southern border and strengthening national security. After voting in favor of the legislation, Sen. Moran released a statement highlighting the ongoing issues at the southern border.
"The crisis at the southern border has posed a national security risk and led to deadly drugs, human traffickers and thousands of migrants illegally entering the country," stated Sen. Moran. He acknowledged President's efforts to address these challenges but emphasized that more resources are needed for sustainable long-term security.
Senator Moran stressed that the legislation would empower Congress to provide advanced technology and permanent infrastructure to aid border patrols in apprehending dangerous individuals and curbing fentanyl trafficking. Additionally, he noted that national safety also depends on military investments.
"Keeping our nation safe also requires investing in our military," he added, pointing out that this legislative measure would enable Congress to enhance defense capabilities against global threats and ensure servicemembers have essential tools for national protection.
