U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall, along with U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, have urged United States Postal Service (USPS) Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to prioritize the relocation and construction of a new postal facility in Olathe, Kansas. This initiative is part of an effort to revitalize the downtown area by modernizing the existing post office.

In their communication to Postmaster DeJoy, the legislators expressed appreciation for the progress made so far while acknowledging the uncertainties faced by USPS. They reiterated their strong support for the project and emphasized their commitment to closely monitoring its progress.

The letter states: "We appreciate the progress to date, and we understand the uncertainties USPS may be currently facing," adding, "However, we wish to again express our strongest support for the project and remind you that each of us remains committed to following the process closely."

The proposed partnership between USPS and Olathe aims to replace the downtown postal facility with a new, efficient structure. The lawmakers believe this project could serve as a model for innovative partnerships that benefit both USPS and local communities. They assert that such initiatives can be realized swiftly and send a positive message to those involved in legislative matters related to USPS.

The call from Sens. Moran, Marshall, and Rep. Davids underscores their commitment to advancing this collaborative effort between USPS and Olathe.
