U.S. Senator Jerry Moran from Kansas has joined several of his colleagues in introducing a resolution to designate May 2025 as Renewable Fuels Month in the United States. The resolution is co-sponsored by Senators Pete Ricketts, Roger Marshall, Deb Fischer, Tina Smith, Joni Ernst, and Chuck Grassley. In the U.S. House of Representatives, Representative Zach Nunn introduced a companion resolution.

Senator Moran stated that "promoting the use of renewable fuels means more jobs and markets in Kansas and across the country while lowering prices at the pump and bolstering U.S. energy independence." He expressed his commitment to increasing biofuel production and usage in America.

Senator Ricketts remarked that "renewable fuels like ethanol and biodiesel are a win for Nebraska and a win for America," noting their benefits in saving money for consumers, supporting agriculture, cleaning the environment, and promoting energy independence.
